Ethereal Beach Styled Shoot

Ethereal Beach Styled Shoot at Devon Beach

What could be more romantic than rolling sand dunes teamed with blue skies, soft tones and delicate textures?

That’s exactly what came together to create this dreamy styled shoot, set on the beautiful sandy backdrop of Old Hunstanton beach in Norfolk. Centred around a light and airy theme of greys and silvers with lavender accents this ethereal beach styled shoot is definitely one for the free spirited couples!

We teamed up with an incredible bunch of female suppliers to pull together this totally Pinterest-worthy beach elopement scene that would have most bride-to-bes ditching the planning and packing their bags pronto!

The theme for the day was brought together beautifully by all involved starting with Helen from Bradgate Flowers who added silver and grey peacock feathers to the already stunning bouquets along with trailing sea grass. The bride ditched the heels in favour of floral anklets which gave the shoot a really relaxed vibe and emphasised the wonderful feeling of the sand beneath your feet!

The models were in fact a real couple who were due to be married later that year so the styled shoot was the perfect opportunity for them to get practising their poses. Saskia from Hair & Makeup by Saskia created a gorgeous soft natural look for the bridal makeup and a masterpiece of a mermaid plait adorned with flowers.

The sweetheart beach table was created by Princess Occasions, with natural flowing fabrics and silver coral like plate chargers.

For the menus and place names we decided to keep things simple yet sophisticated with blue watercolour details and silver hot foil lettering. The intimate table setup replicated one which would be typical of a beach elopement, beautifully rustic yet totally elegant at the same time.

In the middle of the sweetheart table stood the incredible cake created by Cottonwood Bakery. Helen’s inspiration for her beautiful two tier textured cake came in the form of a soft white stone with grey and peach swirls running through it that she discovered on a beach on a previous holiday. The cake was then topped with the perfect lavender and grey mini bouquet provided by Helen from Bradgate Flowers.

The winds got stronger throughout the day which created some gorgeous flowing shots with movement. There were two outfits for the day, the first being simple classic dress by Jesus Piero with an unusual leaf pattern lace. Juila from Frances Day Bridal added a net skirt over the dress to create a softer beach look, the open diamond back was fastened with a small bow and with the mermaid hair pushed to one side it really showed off those small details. The second bridal outfit from Noble & Wright Atelier was a large flowing silk skirt with an added net overlay. The lace top was long sleeved with a scooping open back and could be styled over a dress or top, here it was worn with a lace bra to show off the statement back.

All of the amazing suppliers combined to create a gorgeous shoot which I’m sure I’ll be dreaming about for a long time to come...
